One of the biggest annual events in Yonezawa City, Japan, comes in the spring time in the form of a battle reenactment. The number of souls in this small town will more than double, an influx of tourists converging on the massively entertaining play show of the slaughter of thousands.

The photos of this gallery are a compilation of three years of battles, the minimum amount of time it would take to tell even half the story of this over four hundred year old battle.

Enjoy!
