This old warrior seems to be a veteran in more than one way. Not only does he look like a seasoned swordsman, but I have seen him participating in the battle both in 1997 and 1999, and he probably has been swinging a blade for a long time. Here he is stretching and loosening up his sword arm.
A hint for taking photos at events such as this: when the battle begins the photogs will be shooed away from the battlefield. But if you show up early and take pics while they are practicing, you can get some nice close up shots.
