widow and other participants mourn as the priest prays for forgiveness
for the soul, and to untie the soul from human affairs. |
| Below,
the priest begins the eternal commemoration, or veşnica pomenire.
The priest and participants form a human chain by grasping each other
and touching a bottle of wine and a colivă, a traditional
funeral pudding. They chant "veşnica pomenire"
so that the soul is remembered in eternity. |
