I may have missed the young lovers, but there are only about a million photographers hanging around acting stealthy. There is a big contest every year for the best photo, with a large cash prize, so the would-be photogs dust off their brand new, unused tripods and try their hand. More important than the photos, though, is the size of their cameras. The man with the largest camera gets a nod or two and the right to wear the "I have the biggest camera" T-shirt. I have never seen a pic of the snow festival that looked very interesting, and I'm not about to try. Well, I did do a little cheap trick on this one, zooming my lens while exposing the film. It is a dishonorable gimmick, and I am sorry for pulling it on you. But at least I didn't set up my tripod next to anyone else's and take the same pic!

Next: Who's that looking over my shoulder?
