Arriving in town with no guidebook, I hit the streets looking for intelligence. I find it at a coffeeshop, where the nice woman behind the counter gives me some tips on what to see.
The famous landmark of Sapporo is the TV Tower, a reckoning point for all the people below. I rode the elevator to the top while a tour guide stared at the wall and delivered her rote speech. I won't tell you the specifics of what she said, but basically it is really tall and heaps of people go there so they can take pictures from up high.
